Crisp cold and skiing

Today we did a “leisurely” wakeup, and eventually took a taxi up to the Canada Games Centre around 1030. At -30°C, it’s easy to wax, although the skis were not particularly fast today. Once we were going, though, the skies were clear, and everything was nice and calm around us. Because of the temperature, we had the place almost to ourselves. I tried getting a fire going in the stove at one off the huts, but wasn’t able to get the lighter to lite up, let alone any kindling. We ended up keeping the stop there to a minimum, and instead warned up back at the chalet.

The cross-country facilities here are excellent, with many waxing stations available, along with rentals and lockers if needed.

Whitehorse seems to kind of shut down in Sundays, so we ended up eating dinner at Subway after wandering up and down Main Street in search of an open restaurant. We will most likely just enjoy a warm evening at the hotel after this.
